-게 -ly, adverb suffix

adjective + 게

is attached to adjectives to change the adjectives into adverbs. For example,

맛있게 드세요.  Enjoy the food. (deliciously)
재미있게 보내세요. Hope you have a good time. (joyfully)
즐겁게 보냈어요. I had so much fun. (joyfully)
옷을 왜 이렇게 얇게 입었어요? Why are you wearing less clothes? (thinly)
커피를 따뜻하게 데워 주세요. Please heat up the coffee. (warmly)
편하게 쉬세요. (편하게=편히) Please make yourself at home. (comfortably)
방을 깨끗하게 청소해야 돼요. (깨끗하게 = 깨끗이) I have to clean the room. (cleanly)
방을 더럽게 쓰지 마세요. Do not use the room dirty. (dirtily)
(머리를) 예쁘게 잘라 주세요. Please cut my hair beautifully.
그 가게는 물건을 비싸게 팔아요. That store sell things very expensive. (expensively)
물을 차갑게 얼렸어요. I froze water. (coldly)

-게 can be with verbs like “verb+게 하다” or “verb+게 되다”. ‘verb게 하다’ means ‘make/have someone/something’ which is causative, if you want to learn more about causative, please click here. -게 되다 means ‘turned out to’ or ‘become’. I will post about 게 되다 later.
