저는 재미교포 2세예요. 제 부모님은 1968년에 미국으로 이민 오셨어요. 제가 어릴 때 제 부모님은 워싱턴에서 세탁소를 하셨어요. 두 분은 정말 열심히 일하셨어요. 월요일부터 일요일까지 일하셨어요.
어릴 때는 부모님께서 일만 하는 것이 싫었어요. 다른 친구들은 여름 방학에 캠프도 가고 여행도 가는데 우리는 부모님이 일을 해서 여행을 갈 수 없었어요. 하지만 지금은 부모님을 이해할 수 있어요.
지금 부모님은 연세가 많으셔서 일을 안 하세요. 그리고 작년에 LA로 이사하셨어요. LA에 부모님 친구도 많이 사셔서 제 부모님은 LA를 정말 좋아하세요.
저는 일주일에 한 번 부모님께 전화를 드려요. 부모님께서는 제 아이들을 많이 보고 싶어하세요. 바빠서 자주 못 뵙지만 저도 부모님이 아주 많이 보고 싶어요. 다음 달에 부모님을 뵈러 LA에 갈 거예요.
