Verb/adjective(ends with 아/오 vowel) 아도
Verb/adjective(other than 아/오 vowel) 어도
Verb/adjective(ends with 하) 여도 =>   해도

 

비가 와도 취소하지 않을 거예요.  Even if it rains, we will not cancel.
자리가 없어도 이 지하철을 탈 거예요.  Even if there is no seat, I will take this subway.
돈을 많이 못 벌어도 괜찮아요.  Even if (s)he doesn’t make much money, I am okay.
얼굴이 잘생겨도 친절하지 않은 사람은 싫어요. I don’t like a person who is not kind even if he is handsome.
돈이 많이 없어도 행복하게 살 수 있어요.  We can live happily even if we do not have a lot of money.
핸드폰이 없어도 불편하지 않아요. I am okay(not uncomfortable) even if I don’t have a cellphone.
시간이 없어도 운동을 꼭 해야 돼요.  You should work out even if you don’t have time.
필요 없어도 가지고 갈 거예요.  I will bring it even if I don’t need it.

You can add an adverb ‘아무리‘ which means ‘no matter what’ or ‘no matter how’ if you want emphasize the sentence. For example,
아무리 돈이 없어도 다른 사람의 돈을 훔치면 안 돼요. No matter how poor you are, you shouldn’t steal someone else’s money.
아무리 기다려도 아무도 오지 않았어요.  Even though I waited for long time, no one came.
아무리 돈이 많아도 자랑해서는 안 돼요.  Even if you are a super rich, you shouldn’t show off it.
아무리 힘들어도 끝낼 거예요.  No matter how hard, I will finish it.
아무리 말해도 말을 안 들어요.  No matter how many time I say, (s)he doesn’t listen.

-아/어/여도 돼요/괜찮아요 : You can do~, Can I do~?

Verb+아/어/여도 돼요(되어요)

means ‘you can do~(permission)’ or ‘can I do~?(ask permission)”

A lot of Koreans write this ‘되요’ because the pronunciation of ‘되’ and ‘돼’ are the same!   However it is WRONG!!!!  You should write it ‘돼요’ instead of ‘되요’.

Verb(ends with 하다) + 여도 돼요 => 해도 돼요/괜찮아요

이제 집에 가도 돼요.	You can go home.
아이가 이 프로그램 봐도 돼요?	Can kids watch this program?
여기서 음식 먹어도 돼요?	Can I eat food here?
이 물 마셔도 돼요?	Can I drink this water?
이 컴퓨터 써도 돼요?(으 drop)	Can I use this computer?
여기에서 음악 들어도 돼요? (ㄷ irregular)	Can I listen to music here?
민수 씨한테 말해도 돼요?	Can I say this to Minsu?

If you add ‘안’ in front of this expression, it means ‘I(you) don’t need to do~’ or ‘I(you) don’t have to do~’.

오늘 학교 안 가도 돼요.	I(you) don’t need to go to school today.
몸이 안 좋으면 오늘 안 나와도 돼요.	You don’t need to come today if you don’t feel well.
배부르면 다 안 먹어도 돼요.	You don’t have to finish your food if you are full.
지금 이메일 안 보내도 돼요.	I(you) don’t need to send emails now.
지금 일 안 해도 돼요.	I(you) don’t need to do work now.
